Cliet has issued the invitation to bid for the main contracts to build four liquefied natural gas (LNG) trains on this scheme. The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts are estimated to be worth over $10bn and have been issued to the following consortiums:
Chiyoda Corporation (Japan) / TechnipFMC (France)
JGC Corporation (Japan) / Hyundai Engineering & Construction (South Korea)
Saipem (Italy) / McDermott (USA) / CTCI Corporation (Taiwan)
EPC contracts will be awarded in January 2020, although it did not mention the deadline for submission of bids. The tender calls for the engineering, procurement and construction of the four mega-LNG trains with gas and liquid treating facilities, ethane and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) production and fractionation, a Helium plant, and utilities and infrastructure to support the processing units. Each of the trains will have a capacity to produce 8 million t/y of LNG.

International contractors are preparing to submit bids for the construction of four new LNG trains at Ras Laffan Industrial City on 17 November 2019. The deadline for commercial bid submission is expected to be 12 February 2020.

Seven international contractors have prequalified to submit bids for the construction of four new liquefied natural gas (LNG) trains. The contractors are:
